Your child will likely remember this summer for the rest of their life, no matter how old they are. Between disruptions to their daily routine and the effects of COVID-19 on the entire city of New York, they’re also probably feeling a mixture of confusion and uncertainty about the future.
In a previous post, we discussed the importance of checking in with your child and provided a few helpful tips for doing so, so be sure to read through that post if you’re interested in learning more about how you can support your child through this pandemic. In today’s post, we’re going to turn our attention toward one way that you can add brightness and fun to your child’s life — virtual classes at The Art Farm NYC. Read on to learn more, and visit our sign-up page if you’re ready to get started!
The Benefits of Virtual Classes
Does your child miss seeing their friends at school and on the weekends for playdates? We can’t imagine that the answer is “no,” but it may be some time before we can safely gather again. Virtual classes allow your child to break out of their day-to-day routine and enter a fun-filled environment designed specifically for children their age. It’s hard to find a substitute for in-person classes, but anyone who’s participated in our virtual classes will tell you that they’ve been filled with laughter and joy from start to finish!
Structure is incredibly important for maintaining mental well-being and a sense of normalcy, but you’re not alone if you’ve found it difficult to maintain a routine in the last few months. Your child might be having an equally difficult time, especially now that school is out for the summer. If your child is having a difficult time adjusting to life at home, our virtual classes for kids can provide them with some of the structure they had while they were in school, but we’d like to think that they’ll have just a bit more fun!
As we discussed in a previous post, How to Keep Your Child Engaged This Summer, it’s important to help your child find constructive, educational ways to keep themselves occupied this summer.
As just one example of how we’re helping parents keep their children entertained and engaged, our Farm Foodies class is now being offered as a live cooking class in which your child will learn the basics of cooking and the importance of cooking with fresh, healthy ingredients. We provide start-to-finish guidance and end the lesson with a video from our animals — it’s sure to be a bright spot in your child’s day!
