Meet New Animals You Don’t See Every Day

You don’t have to travel far to see unique, interesting animals in NYC! While kids may be used to cats and dogs, The Art Farm lets children and adults interact with animals they may have never seen before, including chinchillas, bearded dragons, chickens, guinea pigs, and many other reptiles, mammals, and birds!

Learning Compassion and Courage

When kids get to interact with petting zoo animals, they’ll learn what it means to be gentle and caring with all sorts of creatures. Even though all of our animals are completely safe for children to be around, it can be intimidating to see a reptile up close for the first time! Kids will learn how to be courageous and find out that our scaly friends aren’t so scary after all.

Hands-On Activities That Engage All Senses

While it’s easy to pull up a picture of an animal and appreciate it visually, going to a petting zoo environment allows your child to engage all of their senses. Kids are able to see, touch, smell, and hear our animals! Our programs take animals from a concept on a page to a real, breathing, moving experience that they won’t forget!

Social and Emotional Growth

Many studies have found that kids who have the opportunity to interact with animals are able to strengthen their empathetic and caring skills — abilities that can easily carry over to how they interact with other people. Interacting with animals can also help children develop a better sense of self-esteem and confidence.
