UWS Summer Camp 2026: 1st - 2nd Grade Camps

2026 UWS CAMP LOCATION: Trevor Day School West Campus, 1 W 88th St
At The Art Farm, we provide summer camps for children in the Upper West Side of New York City who are entering first grade. Our 1st-2nd Grade camp group is intended for children who are ages 5 to 7 years old and entering a 1st or 2nd Grade classroom in the Fall.
Full-Day Geckos: This group is for children entering 1st and 2nd Grade and includes elective choice time activities, in addition to a three hour Mad Science workshop two days a week.
8 am to 6 pm (Extended Day Option)
- Mon – Fri: $1,350 | Mon, Wed, Fri: $980
9 am to 3 pm (regular schedule)
- Mon – Fri: $1,150 | Mon, Wed, Fri: $895
Early drop-off and extended days are available a-la-carte, as well.
- Early Drop Off: 8 am to 9 am | Additional $20/day
- Extended Day: 3 pm to 6 pm | Additional $45/day

What Happens at the Summer Camp?
Our 1st-2nd grade camp activities include everything from music, art, cooking, animal care, science, and gardening along with sports and local playground visits. We also offer swimming at the Columbus Avenue SwimJim twice a week.
All campers in this age group participate in swimming twice a week. Certified SwimJim instructors conduct the swimming lessons, ensuring every child is taught based on their swimming proficiency.
Amplify your child's learning with Mad Science workshops available only to our older campers entering grades 1-4. Expect a blend of education, hands-on experiments, and entertainment. Themes include "Crazy Chemworks", "Phreaky Physics", and "Red Hot Robots."
Gardening activities occur on our camp floor outdoor terrace; integrated into cooking lessons and live animal feedings. Weekly themes instigate special activities and events. Remember to provide a nut-free lunch for your camper or explore our lunch menu for daily purchase options.
