The Art Farm Preschool For Three-Year-Olds

Our preschool program for 3-year-olds continues to support the growth of independence and social development, building on the foundations established in our 2’s program. At this stage, children begin to take more ownership of themselves and their classroom. They are guided in learning how to care for their belongings, treat peers with kindness, and become active participants in their classroom community.

During the first few months, teachers focus on establishing routines and expectations. Children practice sitting together in a circle, speaking one at a time, transitioning between activities, and separating from caregivers with growing confidence. Teachers provide ongoing support to both families and children to ensure each child feels secure as they adjust to school life and develop essential social-emotional skills.

As the year progresses, children are introduced to early literacy and pre-writing through activities like letter recognition, dictation, and storytelling. They build fine motor skills with tools like scissors and explore early math and science concepts such as floating and sinking, plant growth, and the human body. Dramatic play, classroom responsibilities, and hands-on experiences with animals continue to promote curiosity, teamwork, and creativity.
