Parks
Our preschoolers enjoy daily trips to Asphalt Green's toddler play area, weather permitting, for those staying with us until 1:00 PM. Starting in the spring, children may also head outside earlier in the day for some fresh air and fun. To walk safely to the park, the children hold onto our special shape rope, with teachers positioned at the front, middle, and back to keep everyone safe and together. Our 3- and 4-year-olds also occasionally take walks to Carl Schurz Park for even more outdoor exploration.
Meals
We offer a delicious, farm-to-table lunch option provided by Mangia for an additional fee of $10 per day, plus tax. Each meal is thoughtfully prepared for children ages 2–5 and includes a main dish and a side of fresh vegetables. All meals are carefully planned and do not include red meat. Families can choose to sign up for lunch service on a monthly or yearly basis
Animal Time: Learning through Animals
Our licensed indoor petting zoo houses over 90 different species of animals, offering our young scholars a hands-on exploration of the animal kingdom. Each school day includes engaging, interactive animal science lessons covering topics such as animal coverings, natural habitats, diets, and classification. Animal time is consistently a favorite among our students.
Science Adventures at The Art Farm
Children are naturally curious about the world around them, and we encourage their connection with nature through hands-on experiences like soil exploration and rock collection. Throughout the year, we conduct physical science experiments that allow children to engage with nature in a meaningful way.

Our students enjoy outdoor time at the Asphalt Green playground, where they are encouraged to develop gross motor skills using age-appropriate equipment. Play and friendship-building are essential aspects of our outdoor adventures.
Exploring Cooking & Nutrition
Cooking and nutrition are integrated into our curriculum. Children explore fresh ingredients in our kitchen, where they can safely taste, chop, mix, and measure with their own child-sized utensils. The Art Farm follows a whole foods philosophy, emphasizing healthy eating habits in cooking and other classroom activities.
