Preschool Admissions Process at The Art Farm NYC
Welcome to The Art Farm Preschool in NYC, where we are delighted to offer our competitive preschool program for two, three, and four year olds with rolling admissions, subject to availability. Below, we provide detailed guidelines and the admission process.
Our admissions process adheres to the timeline established by the Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY).
Applications for the 2026-2027 school year close on January 9th.
If you'd like to apply after January 9th, you may still do so but will not follow ISAAGNY application dates.

Age Requirements For Enrollment
- For our 2’s class, children must be 2 years old by October 1 of the year they enter.
- For our 3’s class, children must be 3 years old by December 1 of the year they enter.
- For our 4’s class, children must be 4 years old by December 1 of the year they enter.

The Art Farm Preschool Applications are available online starting August 1, 2026.
October
The Art Farm Preschool will host Open House Tours.
During our Open House Tours, you'll have the opportunity to observe our programs in action and meet our directors and teachers. Open House Tours are not required.
November-February
After submitting your application, a Director will contact you to schedule a parents-only Admissions Tour. If both parties wish to move forward following the tour, you will receive a link to schedule your child’s playdate appointment.
January
Standard application deadline is Thursday, January 8, 2027.
February
Standard applicant notification deadline will be Thursday, February 25, 2027 no earlier than 8:00am.
March
Parent reply date deadline will be Thursday, March 4, 2027 no later than 12:00 noon.
Early Notification Dates and Deadlines for 2027-2028 School Year
Early Notification is for qualifying applicants. Qualifying applications for early notification are siblings of current or former students or children of current faculty or staff. Children enrolled in our pre-2’s program, Farm Friends, also qualify for early notification. Participation in early notification is not required for qualifying applicants.

For students eligible for early notification, the application deadline is November 30, 2026.
November-February

December
Early Notification deadline for early applicants will be no earlier than 12:00 am noon on Wednesday, December 9, 2026.
Parent Reply Deadline will be no later than 12:00pm on Wednesday, December 16th, 2026.

Admissions Tour and Parent Meeting
You are invited to join a tour led by our Admissions Director during a school morning. This personalized experience gives us the opportunity to showcase what The Art Farm Preschool has to offer, while also allowing us to get to know you and your family better.
Playdate Appointments
During your child’s playdate appointment, they will be invited to play in their prospective classroom, explore our entire facility, and meet our teachers. This appointment will take place in the morning and will last approximately 30 minutes.
Family Programing/ Early Notification
The Art Farm Preschool participates in the Early Notification option as outlined by ISAAGNY (Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York).
