What Our Families Say
Q: In what ways have you seen your child grow academically?
A: We have seen such growth, especially with the introduction of Heggerty Phonics and Handwriting Without Tears. The curriculum has really tapped into her curiosity and love for learning. She really enjoys coming home from school and telling me everything she’s learned.

Q: The Art Farm Preschool is…..
A: It's been a great community for our child. She’s been here for two-thirds of her life—probably the place where she has spent the most time, maybe even more than at home. It’s where her friends and her most genuine connections are. It truly is the place that has raised and shaped her. It's so meaningful to us that she's been able to grow in what I really don't think of as just a school or daycare but as an actual community for her to grow up in.

Q: My favorite thing about The Art Farm Preschool is…
A: The approach to learning, especially being able to meet animals every day. They get to learn how to interact with the animals, touch them, and take care of them. I appreciate that, especially living in New York City, where it's so much harder to get access to wildlife and animals.

Q: What has stood out to you at The Art Farm Preschool?
A: What has stood out to me is how much our son has really made such great relationships with his teachers. He's just so happy to come to school. He's grown so much and just feels so loved here.

Q: Has there been any teachers or staff members who have made an impact on your child?
A: She absolutely loves her teacher, Ms. Julie. She often plays teacher at home, so we know exactly what happens each day! She also adores the assistants in the room, like Ms. Kathy. The afterschool staff have all been amazing. Mrs. Jacque has been especially helpful with Heather throughout the many experiences she’s had this year.

Q: What made you choose The Art Farm Preschool for your child, and how has it lived up to your expectations?
A: What made us choose The Art Farm Preschool for our child was the dynamic environment that combines cooking, animals, and art, and playtime with friends, all in one location. I feel like the teachers were well-educated and top-notch. The location is also ideal for us. It is a very comprehensive and collaborative environment, making it an easy choice.

Q: How has the Art Farm Preschool supported you to feel like a part of the community?
A: Our family is definitely connected with the other 2's parents. We have a separate group chat where we developed outside playdates on the weekends and on days that we were off from school. All the parents and all the students are so welcoming and so nice, and it was really great to have that support as my daughter grew from being a two-year-old to a three-year-old.

Q: Has there been any teacher or staff member who made a special impact on your child?
A: From the beginning, Mrs. Jacque. During our tour, she was just so accommodating and so willing to work with us. We had a very young two-year-old, youngest of three in our family, and this was a new experience for us at The Art Farm Preschool. She just really made us feel able to ask all of our questions and get them answered. We have had different experiences at other schools, but Jacque never, ever diminished our questions.

Q: How was The Art Farm allowed your child to grow?
A: The Art Farm Preschool is amazing. Watching my son’s growth over the past year has been so fun, so exciting, so amazing to watch. Where he was when he started and where he ended—academically, emotionally, socially—has been a huge change. It's really been incredible to watch. His growth in phonics has been amazing. He can now identify every letter. He can write his name. He can identify words. He can count. Every single day that he comes home, it seems like he's learned something new. Socially, he's made so many close friends through The Art Farm Preschool. On the weekends, he plays with the friends he's met here. It's been incredible to watch the group that he's been able to form and the friends he's been able to make at The Art Farm. He has had an incredible experience.

Q: The Art Farm Preschool is….
A: The Art Farm Preschool is a really attentive, nurturing program that is able to support your child in whatever way they need, to help them grow and develop. We've seen that so much with our daughters. It is a place to learn life lessons and how to be just a great person. It's not just about education; it's about the other things that life entails—starting those from a fun, exciting point of view, like cooking, animals, getting messy with art. Starting those things at a young age, mixed with a great education—it’s awesome.

Q: What made you choose The Art Farm for your child, and how has it lived up to your expectations?
A: My child came to The Art Farm Preschool with a long list of allergies. This was going to be their first preschool experience, and I was very nervous about how their allergies were going to be managed. It had been my experience that people who had not dealt with food allergies firsthand just did not understand the severity of the condition. The teachers at The Art Farm listened to my concerns and took them seriously. My child was very well taken care of and always kept safe, and that meant everything to me.

Q: In what ways have you seen your child grow—socially, emotionally, or academically—this year?
A: We had already been an Art Farm family for two years when we enrolled our youngest child at the preschool. We knew what to expect, and we were confident that our child would adapt smoothly to their first preschool experience. But life throws you a curveball sometimes. A couple of months into the school year, our child was diagnosed with a social anxiety condition, which was affecting their ability to communicate with people outside of home. The Art Farm Preschool team went above and beyond to help us navigate this challenging situation—they connected us with an excellent specialist and allowed our child to receive a number of special accommodations in the classroom. By the end of the school year, our child had made such tremendous progress that our worries were a thing of the past. It was amazing to witness!
